The Man With Five Wives

"Puuusshh, puuussh, puuussh" was the only word that could be heard from the quiet apartment of  Mr  Gerald and five minutes later, there came another sound nnnwehhnn, nnnwehhnn, nnnwehhnn: Mr Gerald who had been pacing up and down the parlour ran into the room at the sound of the cry of a baby. He could not hold his joy when he was told; its a baby boy He jumped up and shouted finally! Here comes the heir!


Gerald Adekitan, comes from a royal family and it was the turn of his offspring to become the King of Iludun after the last inducted King died, all Gerald needed was a baby boy and here he is. Mr Gerald could not help but stare at the beauty of his son, “what a beautiful baby boy, I shall call him, Adebayo he said to himself.



Adebayo grew up to become a tall, dark and handsome young man. He was charming and irresistible! Everyone wanted to be his friend but Bayo had only one close friend named Sade. Sade was born the exact day and time Bayo was born, she was the daughter of their neighbor- Mr Iwawunmi.




 Sade and Bayo grew up in the same compound and they were inseparable. Bayo would always seek Sades opinion on any matter; he could not take any step without Sade knowing about it. They went to the same primary school, secondary school and even the same university. They also did the compulsory One year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in the same state and got a job in the same company; they were inseparable. 



 I have so much bond with Sade Bayo said to himself one day she knows all about me, and I know all about her, hmmm what else am I looking for? Ill rather make her my wife ” So Bayo took a bold step and asked Sade to marry him, he took her to an expensive suit for a dinner, the waiter brought a covered plate of food for both of them and when Sade opened hers, she was shocked at what she saw,
what! A ring?
just then, Bayo popped the question on his knees,
Sade will you marry me? Sade could not hold the tears running down her cheeks, I have gone through a lot with you Bayo she said.
“yes! Ill marry you”.


For a reason best known to Bayo, his wedding with Sade was a low key one; he almost didnt let anyone know about it. They got married and started another journey of life together, it was a blissful marriage.



They had their misunderstandings but, Sade knew Bayo too well and it was easy to settle all fights and disagreements. However, there was something not seeming right with Bayo, he wasnt enjoying himself again, he wanted more!
