Part 1
(A wealthy man and his son love
to collect rare works of art and the father who is also a great artist is a man
who had made so much works of art and has so many estates.)
Scene 1
(Father and Son in the living
room talking)
Son:
(watching his father draw so keenly) Father you so much love art, the works of
your hand are pretty good.
Father: Thank
you my son, (jokingly) you know I can't just help it.
Both: I had
been a painter since I was in my mother's belly (both laughs)
Son: So what
about being a soldier and going to war?
Father: hmmm,
that, my son, was my job, art is my gift and it can't be taken away from me.
(Paused)
My son, you know, I am very happy
that you have taken after me so much, when I see you, I see myself. I taught you
and you learned, I instructed you and you heeded to my instructions, you even
went as far as becoming a soldier too! I am proud of you my son.
Son: Haba,
father, you know I love you so much why won't I take after you, (smiles and
hugs father).
Father: I
definitely know that you love me because you keep my commandments. You are
blessed my son. (He pats the son at the back).
(Servant comes in to serve
them drink).
Father: Son,
I want to talk to you about something.
Son:
(curious) Go ahead father.
Father: the people
of Battnam are angry with us, they are raging for war, these people have done
so much damage to us already and whosoever goes to war with them hardly comes
back alive, my son I want to ask, would you go for this war?
Son: (sighs)
father, I have learnt a lot from you, I have learnt how to be courageous, how not
to fear, you tell me to “fear not” thousands of time, you have taught me how to
be lowly, meek and above all, you have taught me how to love, I love these
people so much father and I am ready to do anything to save the lives of the
people.
Father: hmm,
true my son (looking sad)
Son: Don’t
worry father, I will come back victorious! (Tries to tickle father to make him
laugh)
Father:
(laughs) come I need to give you my armor because you are going to fight a
great enemy.
(Father and son walks inside
the room).
