Musings Of A Writer

I was recently talking with a friend who had been screenshoting most of my writings on whatsapp.

And I was amazed when he showed me things I had written over a year ago but he said something that struck me "Paul,  I used to write ooooo but I no longer write"

I needed not to ask the reason why he lost interest in writing; he is a very busy man...

Writing is not a full time job for everyone(writer) but as long as you are a writer, you must not allow that skill to 'diminish'.

When you don't make use of what you have, two things will happen: You will lose interest or you may not know how to use it again.

If writing is not a full time job for you, for you not to lose interest in it, one thing is needful: WRITE EVERYDAY.

Yes,  everyday ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ˜

I am not saying you should compose sweet poems or witty writings, it can be about your daily experiences, thoughts, etc.

Do you know that the erudite scholar- Prof Wole Soyinka was held in prison for 22months (1year, 10months)?  And that was where he wrote  "The Man Died" based on his prison experience and it has become one of his most popular books.

Imagine that he was complaining of being a 'busy man'  because he was in prison๐Ÿค”

Friend, don't 'kill' what you have,  find time to nurture it,  you will surely bear fruits.
